The madness continues: more free e-books are available for download from booksellers Amazon and now Barnes & Noble. Daisy Chain by Mary DeMuth is being offered for free download by Amazon and by Barnes and Noble. Also available (by both booksellers) is Robin Jones Gunn’s most recent release from the Katie Weldon series, Peculiar Treasures. Pastor and speaker Rob Bell is also featured with his first book, Velvet Elvis. Christian author Lisa Wingate has two books available for free download: Never Say Never and Talk of the Town. The only book which I can recommend from personal experience is Peculiar Treasures, but I can’t wait to read them all.

So, you don’t have a Kindle reader or the Nook (Barnes&Noble)? Neither do I. But you can still read these books on your computer, blackberry, iPhone or iTouch by downloading free e-reader software from either Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com. But I tell you, I’m getting closer and closer to making the plunge and buying one of these silly devices. I love free books and seeing great titles like these is making me crazy. Happy reading!

  • Hi Karen,
Glad I found your blog (thanks to Mary DeMuth’s RT.
I love my Kindle. Partly because I live in a small town with no access to a bookstore and limited inspirational fiction at the local library, and partly because of the free book offers.
The books aren’t free forever, but while they are it offers folks an opportunity to snatch up a book by an author they might otherwise never find, or might not be willing to invest in without knowing something about their style.
    Blessings and happy blogging!

  • Niki,
Thanks for stopping by! From the buzz on Twitter, it looks like at least two of these titles will be available for about two weeks. The only thing holding me back on the kindle is how quickly things are changing right now with the technology. With everyone and their cousin jumping into the e-reader business, I’ve been doing the “wait and see” thing. But now I’m reconsidering. Maybe I’ll buy the kindle now and just resolve myself to the fact that it’s going to be outdated in a year.

    Thanks for you input!
