Two laptops and my “happy light” to battle those gray Oregon winters.

Long gone are the days of a writer hunched over a typewriter. I love that in today’s world, we can write anywhere. I rarely work at a desk. I have one, but it’s in the darkest part of the house and is usually covered in clutter. The kitchen table is about as professional as I get.

I once got lectured by a professional writing coach because I didn’t have a dedicated writing place and sometimes I feel a bit of office-envy when I see photos of beautiful home offices. I can see the value in a quiet, dedicated space.

But, in reality, I’m a nomad. I get bored easily. I like to go where the spirit moves me.

Those of you who follow me on Instagram know I also have a bizarre habit of taking pictures of my laptop at work. It’s sort of my way of “punching the clock.”

Today, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite time clock moments. Grab a cup of coffee and let’s get to work.

At the office–a.k.a. the coffee shop.

Writing fuel. Coffee and peanut M&Ms. One for every 100 words.

New definition of “yard work.”
Time to pick up the kids from school?

Sneaking in some editing time at the Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference.

I know I’m on vacation–I’m also on deadline.

Can’t get to the coffee shop? At least the kitchen can smell like it.

Too much help while working on the sofa.

My faithful writing assistant.

So, where do you work best? Do you have your own treasured space, or do you have a wandering spirit?

Blessings!
