For the past few months I’ve been filling out interview requests regarding my new novel, Out of the Ruins, talking to bookstores about events/signings, writing guest blogs and articles–basically tap-dancing my way across the social media world. Now it’s flooding the internet and I’m seeing my name pop up everywhere. 

I *hope* I’m not wearing out my welcome. 

For a self-conscious introvert like me, this has been a challenge. With every request, I’m swallowing down my discomfort and focusing on the reason I’m doing this. 

It isn’t about promoting myself. 


It’s sharing what God is doing through my life and in my stories. 

I hope that shines through every blog post, every interview, every personal appearance. I’m living out the verse God placed on my heart. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” [Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV]. 

I imagined. He did MORE. The glory is His.

With that said, here are just a few of the places you read about “our” story.

On Margaret Daly’s blog with an interview of Out of the Ruins heroine, Abby Fischer. Find out what Abby loves and what she fears. For a woman who doesn’t like talking about herself, Abby found quite a few things to share. You can also enter to win a copy of the novel! 



On Borrowed Book, talking about what happens when a self-professed cat-person takes in a needy pup, and how our “failed foster” became a writer’s muse and a social media nut (mutt?). 

 

Also on Borrowed Book, “Listen, Trust, and Obey.” It took me three tries, but eventually I learned to trust what God told me about writing. 

In person, at Tree of Life Christian Outlet (Shasta Outlets) in Anderson, California. This is just outside of Redding.

Isn’t this crazy?! There were even more interviews, reviews, and events over the past few weeks, but I’ve probably inundated you enough already. 

Chances are, over the next month, you’ll see me tap-dancing around the internet a little more. I’m trusting no one will be throwing rotten vegetables. I may look a bit like a fool (I’m not a very good dancer), but hopefully I’m seen as a fool for Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:18 and 4:10).
