What makes a reader’s heart race with joy? For some people, it’s getting their hands on a hardcover edition of a great book. They look so good on your keeper shelf, don’t they?
Hardcovers are becoming difficult to find, so imagine my joy when my publisher, Abingdon Press, sent me these beautiful copies of my newest release, Beyond the Ashes! You can pick up this special edition of Beyond the Ashes at these online sellers: Amazon, ChristianBook.com, and Cokesbury. I’m sure your local bookseller can probably order them for you, as well.
In celebration, I’m giving away one of these beauties! Enter via the giveaway form below. The hardcover giveaway will close at 11:59 Pacific Time on Thursday, August 13, 2015. There are several ways to participate, see the form for more information.
You’ll get one entry by answering this question in the comments (be sure to register for the giveaway first): What is your favorite place to curl up with a good book?
I can’t wait to hear your answers!
At night it’s laying in bed ,if it’s in the late afternoon outside on deck just me and the birds and squirrel’s and a bottle of green tea.
That sounds like me, too. I love hearing the birds.
I couldn’t agree more! My sister just got a book the other day from a CF author and she was pleasantly surprised to find it was in Hardback. When we went to Lifeway the next day she pointed out the same book but it was only in Paperback (she thought it even cooler for getting it in Hardback after seeing that!)
Your book sounds lovely! And the cover is beautiful!
A nice comfy chair with some tea is a perfect reading spot!
Sounds perfect!
I like to curl up with a good book in the loveseat with a tall glass of iced tea. It helps if there is rain drumming on the roof:)
Ahhh, rain on the roof! We get plenty of that in Oregon, but I still love it!
It depends on the season and weather…. My bed most of time, but I love the tub during cold winter nights and I love a hammock during the summer!
I love hammocks. I think I need to get one for my back yard. 🙂
Love to read on my front porch overlooking our pond:) It is so peaceful. We just moved here last December and love our home:)
That sounds amazing, Penny! I’m jealous. 🙂
Thanks for a chance to win your book! 🙂 To answer your question, I love reading books curled up in my soft, blue penguin blanket with a hot cup of tea of coffee! 🙂
I have two cozy blankets that I save for reading time. I have to keep them away from my dogs, otherwise they curl up in them, too.
These are beautiful! My favorite place to read is in my recliner with my cat 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!
Cats make everything better, don’t they?
My favorite place to read in the winter is in front of a fireplace with hot tea or hot chocolate. In the summer my favorite place would be at the beach or pool with a nice icy cold drink!
Thanks for the opportunity to win your book!
Vicki
Those both sound wonderful! It was 108 degrees here yesterday, so I’m imagining cozy winter days by the fireplace.
I love reading in bed but just about anywhere is a great spot to read.
Yep, I’m an in-bed reader, too!
My favorite is the couch with my dog curled up beside me and hot or iced tea, depending on season.
My dachshunds love it when I curl up with a book.
I love to read in my recliner.
A perfect place! I usually end up with a dachshund in my lap when I read in the recliner. 🙂
My bed on which is my feather bed! 🙂 However, I almost always have a book with me so any place can be more comfortable so long as I have a book!
I love reading in bed, too!
I have yet to receive a confirmation email of any sort, but I did sign up for your newsletter. Wondering if I was already in the system so didn’t get one, but wanted to let you know… just in case.. cause I already hit the submit button. I have pain issues so bed is just the most comfortable… plus I lose a lot of sleep through books! LOL
I don’t see you on the list, Rachael. Check your spam folder just to be sure. If it’s not there, send me a private message (karen at karenbarnettbooks dot com) with your email information, and I’ll add you to the newsletter list by hand.
Well, it finally came…strange, guess it just took several hours to find me! Lol
In bed. I’m a comfort first girl.
Thanks for the chance! I love to curl up on the couch with a good book.
I love my leather chair in front of my TV. Love your books.
Thanks, Virginia! 🙂
I love to curl up in our bed with a book, a soft blanket and plenty of pillows, a hot cup of Russian Tea and raining outside. This is perfection!!
Mmmm. I’m craving rain now.
I love reading curled up in my favorite chair, listening to the birds sing.
I love the sound of the birds!
Either curled up on the coach or sitting at the local park is my 2 favorite places to read
Parks are great places to read and relax!
My favorite place to curl up and red my book is at my grandmother’s couch. She is 93 years old and I am her caregiver. I love sitting there curling up and reading my book while she is sleeping. To me that is precious place cause my time with her is so treasure…
That’s sweet! Does she like books, too?
I love to see it my bedroom and read. It’s sunny and quiet.
My bedroom gets a lot of sunshine, too. 🙂
My favorite spot is in my favorite chair (Lazy-boy recliner) with a steaming hot cup of coffee. If it gets too noisy in my house I just throw my thin cotton blanket over my head and keep reading. Sigh….I need a new book.
Whatever it takes, right? It’s really tough for me to read when it’s noisy. I guess that’s why I do most of my reading late at night.
I love to read is either in bed or a comfy chair with a cup of tea.
I love to be right here in my living room on my recliner couch with my sweet husband right across the room reading too!
wow, what a special treat. Would love to have a copy of Beyond the Ashes!
My favorite place to read a book is on my bed with one or both of my cats sleeping beside me.
Oh, I love that their not jealous of your book or light on Molly. I also enjoy reading in bed too! My cat doesn’t like me to read though…
My favorite place is in my recliner where I have a lamp and table set up just for my reading.
My favorite place is in a chair near a window. I love reading in natural light.
I left a comment in the blue box but don’t see it on here yet. Thanks for the hardback giveaway Karen and posting in “Avid Readers of Christian Fiction or I’d never have known.
I enjoy reading as I ride down our wonderful bike trail in my county. People pass me by and hear me either laughing or mumbling at the characters and they just laugh but also, want my set up—Power Chair—-
Reading on the go! Love it. 🙂
My porch swing when the weather is cooler than it is right now!
favourite place . . . . would have to outside on the patio!!!
Comfy lounge outside , so peaceful !
I love to sit on my back porch curled up and read! Especially if its a cool fall day!
A bubble bath or in bed – way too hot to enjoy a cozy reading place outdoors in Phoenix much of the year!
A bubble bath sounds pretty good right now!
I love to go into my small room that I made into a reading room and small library. I have a very comfortable chair in there and that is where I go.
Perfect!
I love to get in my recliner and read. Or, better yet, sitting on the dock while waiting for the fish to bite.
That sounds heavenly.
I love curling up on the sofa to read good books. My favorite place!
Blessings!
My most favorite place is in my recliner with my feet up and in the summer with a glass of lemonade or a diet coke!
My favorite place to curl up and read a book is in my recliner. I’m supposed to elevate my legs whenever I sit down, and the recliner provides that. Of course, I like to munch on something like nuts or carrot slices and have a nice glass of iced tea on the table beside me while I read.
one look in my living room and you’ll see my favorite read spot…books all along the back of the couch, in a basket next to the couch, and in another basket under the end table 🙂
Sometimes in another room away from a very talkative hubby or when it’s nice outside, on the front porch.
On my deck in the sunshine or in my bedroom–recliner or bed either one.
I love my comfy chair where I can put my feet up!
