I AM SO EXCITED to reveal the cover for my upcoming “vintage national parks” novel set at Mount Rainier! The Road to Paradise is a book that I’ve longed to write since I worked as a ranger at Rainier many years ago. The novel releases June 6, but it’s already available for pre-order (pre-order links available here).
Waterbrook Multnomah designed the perfect cover for the 1920s-era book, catching the spirit of both the time period and the national parks. I think you’re going to love it!
Are you ready?
Here we go . . .
…
…
…
Isn’t that fun? I love everything about it, from the vintage postcard vibe all the way to the image of the iconic Paradise Inn. Have you ever had the chance to visit this beautiful national park? If you haven’t driven the road to Paradise, you need to make some travel plans!
Prayer Request
In fact, along those lines, here’s a prayer request for you. I’m planning some speaking engagements and book signings in the Tacoma/Seattle area in celebration of the novel’s release in June. My dream would be to do one in the park itself. I’ve got some contact numbers, but I’d love it if your prayers could pave the way. Would you help me?
In celebration of this special cover release, I want to let you know about two big things going on right now.

I love the old car and the mountains in the distance.
Isn’t it a beautiful car? I’d love to have one just like it.
I love the scenery!
Me, too! I think my heart still lives up at Mount Rainier.
I just love that little purple car!
Isn’t it awesome? I think I need one! Business expense, right?
Absolutely!
The mountains. I love mountains and would love to be able to climb one some day. Great cover, by the way.
Thanks, Debbie! I love mountains, too. Unfortunately, I’m a little bit too afraid of heights to try climbing. But you might get a sense of that if you read the book. 🙂
I love this cover, the vintage postcard feel definitely grabs my interest!
I love the vintage postcard feel. I collect those from our parks. 🙂
I love that it looks like an old-time postcard!
Me, too! That’s my favorite part. 🙂
How fun — and I love the new cover! Congratulations!
Thanks, Susan!
love the vintage postcard vibe
Me, too!!!
I love the bright colors and the vintage card style. I can’t wait to read it.
The colors really pop, don’t they?
My fav part of the cover is the vintage automobile. Beautiful cover! 🙂
Thanks, Melissa! Wouldn’t it be fun to drive that car?
The car and mountains!
Mount Rainier is my favorite place in the world.
I love the mountains, and our beautiful parks! Can’t wait to read this!
Thanks, Bonnie! I’ve very excited about it. 🙂
Will you be doing more books on other national parks ? I highly recommend the Smokys! Very excited about your book!
So far I’m contracted to write two more, one on Yosemite and one on Yellowstone. If they do well, I’d love to write more. The Great Smoky Mountains NP would be one I’d love to write about.
The fact that YOUR name is on it as author!!!!
You just made my day, Connie!
I love the old travel poster style.
Me, too! I love that they chose that style for the cover.
I love your books! This cover is adorable! Especially the people cart!
Ha! People Cart? I’ve never heard it called that. Fun!
I love the style and way the purple contrasts with the orange and green! Beautiful cover!
They really chose some amazing colors. 🙂 I think it would look great as a full-size poster print.
The old poster style of the cover.
That’s my favorite part, too. 🙂
I Love the look of the cover !!! I can’t wait to read the book !!! ❤️?
Thanks, Michelle! I’m excited for everyone to see it.
The cover is delightful : ) I am a “purple person”, and I love the touches of purple–especially the cute little motorcar!!!
Now I’m dreaming of owning a purple roadster. How about you?
The vintage car, the mountains, the pine trees–I LIKE the entire cover!
It’s a beautiful scene! I’d like to step into it.
Love the cover and look forward to reading it someday!!
Thanks, Robin!
I love the old car and the mountains in the background.
Thanks, Andrea! Mount Rainier is one of my favorite places in the world.
I love the vintage style and the colors. Thank you for the chance.
Thanks, Lucy! I love the vintage look, too. It’s such a perfect match to the story.
Karen, this cover is AWESOME! I love everything about it.
Thank you, Caryl!
I loved the Golden Gate Chronicles! I recommend it to family and friends every chance I get. The cover of The Road to Paradise is gorgeous and I can hardly wait for it!
Oh, thank you Kathy! You made my day. 🙂
I love the colors especially the purple hues!
The purple is fun, isn’t it?
I love the classic car on the cover! 🙂
I think that car should come live in my garage. 🙂
I love it just for the fact that it is so different from everything else out there!
Exactly! It’s very different than other books currently out in Christian fiction. The only ones I can think of with a somewhat similar look are Julianna Deering’s Drew Farthering mysteries.
I love the cover! Would really enjoy reading about Ranier National Park. Book sounds amazing.
Thanks, Dianne! Mount Rainier is my favorite place in the world. I can’t wait to show it to you in this novel.
I like the vintage feel of the cover but I love that purple car! This sounds like a great new series.
I love the old car and the scenery.
I love the mountains. Mt. Rainier is such a gorgeous place–it makes me want to get back there.
Thanks for your giveaway of your new book. Would love to win it.
My most favorite thing I like about the new cover is the vintage car.
I love the car! I grew up going to car shows and being around street rods. I noticed it first thing. Then the mountains! Very unique and beautiful cover!
Wow! I love the cover. It’s very different and fun and your book sounds so fascinating. I’d love to win a copy!
I love how scenic the cover looks.
like its someone out for a Sunday drive or going on vacation to the mountains. Thanks for the giveaway and your new book.
We have visited the park and stayed in the lodge. The cover is perfect !
Everything!! But especially the mountain. Love the mountain!
Vintage car, the mountains, the pine trees, the colors of the cover! 🙂
I also like the vintage postcard look of the cover!
I like how it looks like an old postcard.
The vintage book-cover look–the style of painting and the part of the title written in orange script. Something about the car gives it a feeling of fun!
I like all the shades of lavender!
I am a big fan of retro art and this cover is adorable. I grew up in the foothills of Mt. Rainier with a perfect view of the mountain from out front picture window. I still live in Washington, but now I’m closer to Mr. Baker than Mt. Rainier. If you come to to the Seattle/Tacoma area for a signing, i will try my best to make it.
The cover is fun!!
I just love the unique look of this cover, almost like a cozy mystery! Those are some fun covers 🙂
