We are getting so close to the release date for WHERE THE FIRE FALLS, and I’m excited to see the latest story in the Vintage National Parks novels get out into the hands of readers just in time for summer travel. My publisher is offering a special BOGO pre-order deal right now that you’re not going to want to miss. If you pre-order Where the Fire Falls before June 4, you can be eligible to receive a FREE copy of the first book in the collection, The Road to Paradise. To redeem this offer, find the entry form here. If you’re looking for pre-order links, you can find them on the books tab of my website, or by clicking here.
Here’s what Publisher’s Weekly said about Where the Fire Falls:
Yosemite National Park shimmers in this majestic ode to the western mountain paradise from Barnett.
RT Book Reviews had this to say:
A must-read for historical fiction fans, armchair travelers, outdoorsy and/or artistic readers and for anyone who considers the mountains their happy place.
Author Rachel McMillan (author of the Herringford and Watts Mysteries and the upcoming Van Buren and DeLuca series) adds,
Armchair travelers will sense every sight, smell, and touch thanks to Barnett’s inimitable spirit of place.
There will be a flurry of release excitement over the next month, including radio interviews, giveaways, books signings, and personal appearances. If you’d like to be kept up to date, make sure to sign up for my newsletter. I typically only send a handful a year, so you don’t need to worry about your email box being flooded with offers. I also don’t share that information. You can find the subscription form on the right side of my website.
In other news, I just turned in the completed manuscript for the third book in the series, set in 1933 Yellowstone National Park. I know what you’re thinking–it doesn’t release until 2019! One thing I love about working with a traditional publisher like WaterBrook & Multnomah (a division of Penguin Random House) is that I have a team of people helping to make each novel as good as it possibly can be. I work with an incredible team of editors, artists (those covers, right?!), marketers, publicists, and so forth. So even though it’s my name on the cover, these folks deserve a lot of credit. Turning in the book is only one step along the journey to publication. I often feel that editing is where the magic really happens. But with that said, I can’t WAIT for you to meet these characters, too. I had such a fantastic time writing about Yellowstone and the Civilian Conservation Corps. I’m sorry you have to wait a year to meet them, but trust me–it’ll be worth it!
And if you’ve pre-ordered Where the Fire Falls this month, don’t forget to go claim your BOGO offer. It’
s only good through June 4, 2018. See the redemption page for details.
